The Convermex group, established in 1969, is fully committed to the environment, including raw-material processing, from the start of manufacturing, for every line of products we create.
 
Manufacturing Processes
 
Convermex manufacturing processes follow highest production standards, from raw materials to finished goods. Convermex recycles 80% of the waste manufacturing material, optimizing leftover levels and reducing pollution. All our manufacturing processes are conducted in accordance with SSA (Secretaría de Salud) and FDA (Food and Drug Administration) guidelines.
 
Convermex is environmentally-committed. Our EPS products are more than 95% air, we do not use bleaching agents, and we save six times more water than traditional manufacturing processes of cups or paper containers.
 
Our products are four to five times cheaper than normal plates and cups: expanded polystyrene and thermoformed products are much more affordable as they are single-use and don’t require water, electricity or cleaning products. They are also more environmentally-friendly, perfect for hospitals, schools, and to satisfy all of your household needs.


EPS Products At-a-Glance

- Isolating material and heat transfer: The air inside the cellars allows us to maintain a perfect temperature, cold or hot. Wide range of temperature conservation.

- Avoids overheating and is an economical product: The product can be held without burning the customer. There is no need of additional protection, double-layer paper cups or double cups, making catering less expensive.

- Expanded polystyrene preserves food in the best condition: Strong and durable.

- Printed products (EPS and Thermoformed): The ink used by Convermex is non-toxic and complies with FDA regulations. The ink solvents are water and alcohol-based. The printing process does not affect the product quality or the food or drink. It’s perfectly safe for the consumer.

- Our products are CFC-free (chlorofluorocarbon): They help to preserve the ozone layer and protect the environment. They are 100% recyclable and can be used to make other plastic products.

- Convermex uses 100% virgin resin. This assures a quality and safe product from the very beginning of the manufacturing process.

Convermex has been awarded the SEMARNAT* and PROFEPA** “Clean Industry” certification.
